[This week marks the start of the Fall semester, and my 22nd year at Fitchburg State. So as usual, I’ve shared a semester previews blog series to go with it, leading up to this special post on some of my latest scholarly projects!]
I’ve ended up teaching two extra courses this Fall that weren’t on the radar when I drafted this week’s series: my 20th Century American Women Writers course for our Grad English program (an addition for a very good reason—our numbers have gone back up to the point where we need multiple Lit courses in a semester!); and my long-overdue return to our ALFA adult learning program, with a class on finding joy in dark times (inspired by the second season of my podcast!). As a result, I won’t have a ton of time to work on scholarly projects this Fall, other than continuing with my scheduled work like this blog and my #ScholarSunday threads and my Saturday Evening Post Considering History columns.
However, I do still have a long-term project that’ll be gestating this Fall. I don’t want to say too much yet, but I will say that at the heart of it is the story I told in this column and talked about earlier this week for the 9 Online baseball history conference.
